Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, is seeking an Advance Practice Provider to join our growing Primary Care team in the brand new Virtual First Clinic launching in fall 2023. We are seeking a passionate Advanced Practice Provider to help us build the primary care clinic of the future.
Virtual First Clinic will aim to recreate the experience all of us hope to have in healthcare by simplifying accessibility to quality healthcare and strengthening the provider-patient relationship. In this model, Rush faculty will deliver convenient and compassionate care for each patient using a technology-augmented, team-based approach. Our collective mission is to improve population health, enhance the patient experience, reduce unnecessary healthcare costs, improve clinical staff experience, and decrease health inequities.
The ideal team member is process-oriented, compassionate/empathetic, innovative, and has experience working in team-based models. Qualified applicants must be licensed physician assistants (PA) or advanced practice registered nurses (APRN) in IL, and possess a demonstrated history of professionalism, team building, and providing excellent clinical care. Advanced Practice Provider experience is required. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) who assumes this role will function in collaboration with the physician faculty to co-lead the entire team and patient panel within the scope of practice granted in accordance with the RUMC medical staff bylaws. The APP will be expected to see patients independently where applicable.
Virtual First Clinic Model:
Rush has over 400 APPs across the enterprise that provide comprehensive patient care each day autonomously and in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. With 2 Directors of Advanced Practice and 27 Lead APPs across the system, Rush's vision is to have every APP practicing at full scope and top of license.
