The non-tenure track faculty member in the Department of Health Systems Management coordinates the day-to-day operational functions for the new Executive Track of the Master's Program in Health Systems Management. The faculty member will work closely with department leadership to implement the new educational track, collaborate across university departments and functions to ensure the track is integrated within the university, plan and oversee the marketing and outreach strategy in coordinating with the college's Director of Admissions and Marketing, manage the budget, work with employers and prospective students in all phases of the recruitment and admissions process, and be the primary point of contact for students enrolled in the Executive Track, from matriculation through to graduation.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates marketing and recruitment: In coordination with the college Director of Marketing and Admissions, supports and manages marketing and recruitment of applicants to the Executive Track of the MS-HSM program, including the development and implementation of a marketing and recruitment strategy for approval at college level; ensuring that the marketing efforts are well-coordinated with the Residential MS-HSM Track, College of Health Sciences, Rush University and Rush Medical Center; planning outreach efforts to employers and other venues; planning and facilitating recruitment events in coordination with college marketing and recruitment; coordinating the development of digital and print media communications in coordination with the college marketing person; monitoring the website and on-line social media presence; and evaluating the success of the strategies employed therein.

  • Manages and grows employer and channel partner relationships: Identifies potential employers/channel partners; works with program leadership to conduct outreach efforts; fosters ongoing relationships with employers and other channel partners; and tracks employer and channel partner outreach efforts and outcomes.

  • Coordinates academic operations: Responsible for organization and management to support the academic mission of the department.

  • Supports admissions process: Coordinates the HSM admissions process with the Director of Admissions and Marketing by providing ongoing communication with Executive Track applicants throughout the admissions process; planning admissions interviews in collaboration with admissions and department leadership; follows up on admissions decisions admissions decisions; and tracking application and admission decisions.

  • Assists in financial management: In coordination with the college Director of Finance and HSM chairperson, manages monthly budget for Executive Track; works with department leadership and college personnel to set annual budget projections; provides ongoing oversight of revenue and expenses.

  • Coordinates course instructor staffing and related processes: Assesses faculty needs; works with department leadership to develop faculty recruitment strategy; develops materials to support initial and ongoing faculty preparation and development; coordinates Executive Track "adjunct"(restricted part time employees or RMC employees) course instructors; compiles and reviews Executive Track "adjunct" (restricted part time employees or RMC employees) course instructor evaluations; manages faculty staffing in collaboration with department leadership to ensure coordination between the Executive and Residential Tracks.

  • Promotes departmental integration: Develops and manages policies and procedures for aspects of the Executive Track that require separate infrastructure; for aspects that can be integrated with other programs, reviews and revises policies and procedures to ensure smooth integration.

  • Leads Executive Track evaluation: Conducts continuous quality improvement; facilitates accreditation processes; coordinates assessment of student competencies across courses.

  • Maintains outstanding communications: Maintains regular communication with employers, prospective applicants and students; maintains regular communication across the college and university.

Position Qualifications Include:

  • Master's degree in health systems management, health care management, business administration or a related field, or a doctoral degree.

  • Outstanding organizational and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to function independently and in a team-based environment. Ability to work effectively with various levels of employees and leaders.

  • Ability to build consensus across diverse groups.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Internet Explorer; strong spreadsheet and database skills.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Five or more years of work experience in a healthcare setting.
