Neonatology - Clinical Faculty
Faculty/Clinical Faculty | Medical College - Main Campus | Pediatrics

The Division of Neonatology in the Department of Pediatrics at Rush University Medical Center in downtown Chicago is seeking a full-time, academic neonatologist to join our faculty. The Renée Schine Crown Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a Level 3 (highest IL designation), 72 bed (single roomed), state-of-the-art unit. We care for critically ill infants who are born at Rush and/or transferred in from network hospitals. Our patient mix ranges from extremely preterm infants to those with complex surgical needs. Clinical responsibilities include providing clinical care in the NICU and may include outpatient neonatal services and consultations. Educational responsibilities include teaching medical students, residents, nurse practitioner students, and fellows in our new fellowship program.

Our NICU has a robust multidisciplinary Quality Improvement (QI) program led by a neonatologist with expertise and certification in QI. Our center has had consistent excellent outcomes in several major neonatal morbidities in very low birth weight infants within the Vermont Oxford Network. The Division partners with Obstetrics and Pediatric subspecialists to provide prenatal care and consultation through our multidisciplinary Fetal-Neonatal Center. Our productive NICU Human Milk research team at Rush conducts clinical and translational research in diverse areas: clinical, neurodevelopmental and economic outcomes associated with mother’s own milk and donor milk, disparities in lactation, maternal, infant and milk microbiome, human milk science, and lactation physiology.

Applicants should be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, and qualified for a faculty appointment in Rush Medical College.
