Supportive Oncology Psychiatric Advanced Practice Provider (part-time)

The Rush University Cancer Center is currently recruiting for a part-time Supportive Oncology Psychiatric Advanced Practice Provider to join their team. This role will be located at Rush’s downtown Chicago campus functioning on a four, half-days, day shift schedule in clinic and one half-day of administrative time.
This advanced practice provider will work on a multidisciplinary team including a psychiatrist, psychologists, social workers, chaplain, integrative medicine, dietitians, and physical medicine and rehabilitation to provide high quality, evidence-based psychiatric treatment to patients at the Rush University Cancer Center. This clinical role will be in an outpatient psycho-oncology practice under the direct supervision of the attending psychiatrist. Patient care responsibilities include evaluation and treatment of new patients referred from providers at the Cancer Center with routine psychiatric complaints. Additionally, this provider will grow a caseload of follow-up patients for ongoing continuity and management. This provider will work closely with the attending psychiatrist to provide recommendations for patient care to all medical providers at the Cancer Center. The ideal candidate will have enthusiasm for working on a multidisciplinary team and for working with patients with complex medical diagnoses. There are opportunities to participate in scholarly activity and academic projects based on individual interest. There are no call responsibilities, no nights/weekends/holidays, work will be focused in the ambulatory setting, no critical care or surgical responsibilities.
*Applicants with past training and education in psychiatry and/or clinical experience in ambulatory psychiatry setting under supervision of a physician, experience with patients with complex medical illness preferred
