The Division of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Rush University Medical Center is seeking a full-time Interventional Radiologist to join our academic practice in Chicago, IL.

The VIR Division at Rush has excellent collaborative relationship with Vascular Surgery, Transplant Surgery, Hepatology, Oncology/Oncologic Surgery and Gynecology with robust work flow. IR program is clinically oriented with a very busy inpatient consult and outpatient clinic volume. The program currently has 5 faculty and 6 fellows, 5 accredited, 1unaccredited fellow. The program also has 4 integrated IR/DR and 2 independent IR/DR resident positions. IR/DR Residency program will mature in 2 years, which will allow total of 10 fellow level trainees on service within 2 years. Currently 2 IR/DR and 1 DR resident and 1-2 medical students rotate through VIR on any given day. One fellow and one resident is consult duty and rest of trainees each cover a procedure room. Over 8,000 procedures are performed each year.

At Rush University Medical Center (RUMC Main Campus) VIR has 5 dedicated Siemens fixed units, a dedicated CT Intervention room. A 6th dedicated fixed Siemens C-Arm room is under construction with plans to update the oldest room to a CT/Fluoro combined room for complex oncologic procedures.

Our division performs the whole spectrum of vascular and interventional procedures including, below knee recanalizations for critical limb ischemia, aortic stent grafts for aneurysms and dissection, complex venous recanalizations, IVC filter placement and removal, all aspects of interventional oncologic procedures including radioembolization, chemoembolization, microwave, IRE, cryoablation, vertebral augmentation, biopsies, fibroid and AVM embolization, TIPS/BRTO, transjugular biopsy, dialysis interventions including percutaneous AV access creation and percutaneous peritoneal dialysis catheter placement, tunneled catheter placements (port/dialysis catheters), etc. We have a busy service starting the day at 6 am with morning rounds and performing around 30 cases with on call person finishing after 7 pm in most days.

The IR division has an excellent relationships with referring clinicians and hospital administration. The position will cover in hospital clinical work primarily at main campus and coverage of a small satellite hospital 1-2 times a week. All IR faculty participates in multidisciplinary conferences, research publications, hospital committees, and quality initiatives. The selected candidate will work closely with IR/DR residents, fellows, and medical students from Rush Medical College and collaborate professionally and academically with professionals from surgery specialties, oncology, hepatology, gastroenterology, urology, radiation oncology, and organ transplant services. Research experience or interest is appreciated.
