RUSH University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for RUSH Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Hematologist/Oncologist in the Section of Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplant to join the Rush University Cancer Center.


Qualified candidates should have excellent stem cell transplantation training and/or significant clinical experience in the field with strong interest in clinical/translational research. Candidates must have fellowship training in cellular therapy with board certification and MD or MD/PhD (or equivalent) in Hematology and/or Oncology. The ideal candidate will have experience practicing in an academic medical center with academic productivity commensurate with current faculty rank. The predominant criteria for all appointments are a major commitment to research, teaching, and patient satisfaction, excellence in clinical care, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service.


Our transplant program performs over 100 transplants (2/3 autologous + 1/3 allogeneic) every year with significant proportion of alloHCT being matched related and unrelated as well as haploidentical allogeneic SCT. Umbilical cord blood transplantation is one of the donor types that are offered to patients as well. The program is growing rapidly and is an important part of total prioritized cancer care growth at Rush University. The program is fully accredited by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), and is a member of the Radiation Injury Treatment Network (RITN). This recruitment is part of a strategic growth initiative under new leadership in a multidisciplinary advanced program with state-of-the-art technology, outstanding faculty and innovative research in clinical trials. This particular position will have a significant role focused on the development of cellular therapy, including CART cell therapy.
