Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist. 

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Rush University Medical Center is recruiting faculty for a full-time position in the Division of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry. This position offers rank and salary commensurate with experience. Eligible candidates should be American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology board certified or eligible. Completion of a consultation-liaison psychiatry fellowship or combined residency training in internal medicine and psychiatry is desirable. 

The Consultation Liaison service plays an integral role in psychiatric screening and treatment of patients admitted to the general medical and surgical units; liver, kidney, and bone marrow transplant services; hematology-oncology urology, orthopedic surgery, obstetrics floors; and intensive care units including cardiac, neurological, surgical and medical ICUs. Additionally, members of the Consultation-Liaison Team have active outpatient practices in psychiatric subspecialties including outpatient liver and kidney transplant, psycho-oncology, neurology/movement disorders, and collaborative care psychiatry. Opportunities also exist for innovative delivery of care in other settings, including co-location in other medical and nonpsychiatric venues. There is also potential for this role to be split to include emergency department coverage. Candidates should have a passion for academic medicine and education. The candidate will supervise and teach residents, medical students and other trainees affiliated with Rush University. Additional opportunities to pursue an active role in the Medical College, Residency Training, and Department and University Administration are available.
