GENERAL SUMMARY:
Subject to the appointment by the President of RUSH University (the “University”), the Provost serves as the Chief Operating Officer of RUSH University with the primary academic responsibility for the University and its three Colleges (Medicine, Nursing, and Health Sciences). The Provost is the individual responsible for executing the Strategic Plan for the University in support of the President, the Deans and Colleges. The Provost works as the senior staff member and reports directly to the President of the University to ensure that the research and education mission are thriving while promoting integration with Rush University System for Health.
The Provost is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the implementation of the academic and operational policies of the University. These policy areas include, but are not limited to, accreditation, admissions, curriculum, diversity/equity/inclusion, financial aid, program assessment, and student and faculty issues.
