Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for a full time, 2-year Postdoctoral Fellowship in Rehabilitation Psychology.
The program meets Baltimore Conference Training Guidelines. Upon graduation, fellows are eligible for board certification from the American Board of Professional Psychology A(BPP) in Rehabilitation Psychology. We are a full member of the Council for Rehabilitation Psychology Postdoctoral Training Programs.
The position is a 2-year training program with 4, 6-month rotations. Fellows choose among a variety of major and minor rotations, including but not limited to: inpatient rehabilitation, ICU and Acute Consultation-Liaison Psychology, Advanced Heart Therapies, Outpatient Rehabilitation Psychology, Tinnitus, Research and Administration.
The program emphasizes clinical activities and includes an optional research component with up to 20% research time during that 6-month rotation.
Other training experiences include weekly didactics, journal clubs and opportunities to access hospital-wide grand rounds including PM&R rounds, RUMC rounds, Ethics rounds and more. Depending on experience, progress and individualized goals, fellows may also participate in clinical professional development activities such as carrying a service line pager, assigning patients to census, or otherwise engaging in practice management activities to prepare for independent practice and leadership in a hospital setting.
